Todd English Tavern Opens Adjacent to the Braves’ New Ballpark on April 28

The Atlanta Braves have officially moved into their new Cobb County home, and the development that lies adjacent to SunTrust Park is coming alive. Two more grand openings are scheduled for The Battery this month: Sports & Social and Todd English Tavern. The former will officially open this Friday, April 21, and the latter will debut a week later on April 28.

PBR Bar will follow with an opening on Friday, May 12. The three venues are part of the Live! at the Battery portion of the development.

Celebrity chef Todd English’s eponymous restaurant will serve upscale tavern fare that blends Southern and international influences. Jimmy Reyes, an alum of English’s Bluezoo restaurant in Orlando, will oversee kitchens for each Live! restaurant.

Sports & Social will serve as the development’s resident sports bar — though, director of operations Ben Brengle says it’s “so much more than a sports bar.” Games will be shown on a 30-foot LED screen, but the venue will incorporate a bit of stadium atmosphere with various forms of entertainment during commercial breaks. Ping pong, air hockey, shufflepuck, bocce ball, and foosball will be available to keep patrons busy. English and Reyes have collaborated on the menu for Sports & Social.

At PBR Bar — named for the Professional Bull Riders Association, not the beer — look for a mechanical bull, a “specialty drink menu,” and dancing.

Live! at the Battery is located at 825 Battery Ave. SE, Suite 600, facing SunTrust Park.
