Time Flies: A Bar at the Battery is Having a 1-Year Anniversary Party
It may not seem like it, but Sports & Social Club has almost been open a year.
And they are throwing themselves a party.
The two-level sports bar, featuring television screens that stretch 30 feet diagonally, is having the shindig on its birthday, April 13.
The spot is one-third of what is called “Live! at the Battery Atlanta,” which is owned by the Cordish Companies. ECI — Cordish’s subsidiary that manages restaurants, bars and clubs — runs Sports & Social.
S&S, in addition toTodd English Tavern and PBR Atlanta, have been the sight of many events over the first year: from a “Stranger Things” Halloween event to a charity Santa bar crawl.
And then there was that one time UGA fans were getting rowdy watching the team’s stunning double-OT Rose Bowl win. There was falling confetti and champagne being poured into mouths and general debauchery.
Cassie Cope, spokeswoman for the trio, said the anniversary event starts at 8 p.m., and is for those 21 and older.
There will be giveaways, contests, live music, free trips, the Tomahawk Crew and a performance by the Heavy Hitters.
