The weekend has arrived once again, so of course you are looking for some things to do, right? Look no further: Atlanta is the perfect place to have a night on the town, catch a sporting event, or spend the day laughing with loved ones at a uniquely-themed festival. In the coming days, the Hawks will face off against two Eastern Conference opponents, Battery Park hosts the return of the highly-anticipated Braves celebration, and the Emmy Award-winning Trevor Noah takes his talents to the Fox Theatre for three nights of comedy. With all that being said, go ahead and put on your best outfit, call up the crew, and start having some fun in the 404 until the work week rolls around.

In recent years, the art scene in Atlanta has really grown. Whether you’re checking out the work at the many establishments in Miami Circle, or if you attend an event at Peters Street Station, you’ll be able to see some of the best art around because this city is home to some of the country’s best artists, period. This weekend, Cat Eye Creative will host its Fresh Start group show, while Greg Mike’s ABV Gallery off the Beltline features over 60 artists in the One By One exhibition. Both of these galleries are owned and operated by visual artists, which makes the atmosphere that much more welcoming to creators, as well as consumers.

The surging Hawks are headed home for a few days to face off against two of their Eastern Conference rivals. On Friday, Trae and the guys play the New York Knicks, and on Saturday they will go head-to-head against the Charlotte Hornets, a team owned by the great Michael Jordan. With the records in the east so close, each game counts—especially as we approach the All-Star break. State Farm Arena is the perfect place to watch basketball live, and it also houses some great restaurants for food, drinks, and good ol’ fun. Come Monday, the boys in red and yellow should be fresh off a winning weekend.

Fresh off of his seven-year reign as the host of Comedy Central’s flagship program The Daily Show, Trevor Noah is heading to the Fox Theatre for his Off The Record tour. Noah’s unique delivery style has earned him a spot as one of the funniest comedians in the world, which shows throughout his many stand-up specials. For three nights, the Emmy Award-winning host will hit the stage and tell stories about life that will surely leave audiences laughing for hours on end. If his Atlanta show is anything like I Wish You Would, then whomever is in attendance this weekend is in for a treat.

The Atlanta Braves are a cornerstone team in the MLB, and have captured the National League East Championship 5-times—its time to celebrate the greatness of the city’s favorite squad. On Saturday, fans and supporters of the team can pull up to the Braves Fest presented by Delta Air Lines! Spanning across Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta, this festival gets you closer to the Braves than ever before by featuring a variety of exciting events such as player autographs and photos, unique interactive experiences, shopping, dining, and so much more. One of the best things about this happening is that players and coaches will be appearing throughout the stadium to share the excitement with everyone in attendance.

In some cities, festival season begins around April; in Atlanta however, festival season lasts year ‘round. Pull up to City Winery at Ponce City Market for the coveted Atlanta Wine Festival. Here, you can sip the day away to the sounds of the venue’s house DJ, as well as some live performances throughout the duration of the event. The fest will also feature over 50 different wines, beers, and White Claw to choose from, so be prepared to get your drink on. The AWF will have two sessions; the first from 12 pm - 4 pm and the second will go from 6 pm - 10 pm. Start off 2023 with some wine and a good time while you dine.

With new businesses popping up in the city every month it seems like, Atlanta continues to be one of the fastest growing places in the country. Last week, the U.K.-based high-tech darts destination and restaurant, opened its doors near the Interlock in West Midtown. Flight Club is a fun twist on the traditional game of darts. Here, you can play with up to 12 people, and you can also enjoy a variety of food and cocktails, featuring a lineup of shareable bites, including house-made dips, skewers, sliders and flatbreads, perfect for sharing amongst a group so dining doesn’t interrupt the competition. The Atlanta location also includes two floors with two bars, an outdoor patio space and plenty of seating for guests playing darts or lounging in between games.

If you’re looking for a taste of nostalgia this weekend, then look no further than the Rialto Center at Georgia St. Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., the seven-time Grammy Award-winning duo, will hit the stage for one night only. Not only did these two rub elbows with icons such as Ray Charles and Tina Turner, they’ve been creating beautiful music with each other for over 50 years. During this highly-anticipated show, you can hear the legendary couple perform some of their classics such as “You Don't Have To Be A Star,” “Worst That Could Happen,” “Stoned Soul Picnic,” “Sweet Blindness,” “Wedding Bell Blues,” and more.

There’s something about East Atlanta Village that never disappoints. Home to establishments such as Flatiron, The Elder Tree, and Argosy, it’s easy to get lost in this fascinating neighborhood during the weekends. One of the best places here was The Graveyard—now known as the Southern Feed Store. The jazzed up location features spots like Woody’s Cheesesteaks, Waffle Bar, Gyro Gyro and Buteco, and it boasts weekly events for attendees both young and old. In the coming days, the venue will host a ‘90s inspired kickback, and live performances from some talented artists.
